Collection: Blown Glass Witch Balls

Ahh...the mystical, magical blown glass witch ball - referred to as a tree of life ball, sprite ball, a juju ball, a spirit ball, witches ball, fairy orb - whatever name you call them - we call them beautiful!

Blown glass witch balls were very popular in the 18th century, but their actual origin is thought to be much earlier. For well over 300 years, hollow glass spheres have been hung in windows to ward off witch spells, evil spirits and ill fortune. There's sometimes rough hole near the top of the ball where presumably little hands reached into the ball to assemble the tree.

The modern blown glass witch ball is an object of beauty, designed to delight the eye with its beautiful color and lyrical, organic forms.

Due to the handmade nature of blown glass, no two are exactly the same! Our blown glass witch balls come in 4" and 3" sizes with a glass loop for hanging. A coordinated satin cord is provided along with the "Story of the Witch Ball".

Whatever the folklore, blown glass witch balls are gorgeous hanging in a window, in a garden, on a chandelier, on a Christmas tree or displayed in a bowl! Delightful, unique, keepsake ornaments, made with love.
